Transition

Very interesting core premise, with engaging (if not always likeable) characters. Beautifully written. I had a quibble with the abrupt (and to me, untelegraphed) jump in a character's capabilities toward the end. Still, I'm sold on Iain M. Banks. I guess I'm looking for deals on Culture books now…
