Blue Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies

1¼ c (175 g) all-purpose flour stir   mix mix Bake 18 minutes at 300°F (150°C)
¼ t salt
½ c (100 g) granulated sugar beat mix
½ c (120 g) firmly packed light brown sugar
8 T (1 stick, 115 g) unsalted butter, cold, cut into ½″ pieces
1 large egg  
1 t vanilla extract
½ t baking soda
1½ c (200 g) semisweet chocolate chips  
1 c (130 g) walnuts or pecans, toasted and chopped
  1. Adjust the oven rack to the top third of the oven.
  2. Stir together the flour and salt. Set aside.
  3. Beat sugars and butter together until smooth.
  4. Mix in egg, vanilla, and baking soda.
  5. Stir flour mixture into sugar mixture.
  6. Mix chocolate chips and nuts into batter.
  7. Scoop dough into 2-T (5-cm) balls and place 8 balls, spaced 4″ apart, on each baking sheet.
  8. Bake 18 minutes at 300°F (150°C), or until light golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

Makes about 24 cookies.
